Collection: Aromantic Pride

A person who is aromantic does not experience romantic attraction. Aromanticism is sometimes mistaken with asexuality, although asexuality is just the absence of sexual desire. Aromantics aren't all asexuals, and asexuals aren't all aromantics.

What Is Aromantic?

A person who is aromantic has little or no romantic attraction to others. Aromantics are typically happy with friendships and other non-romantic connections, whereas romantics have an emotional desire to be with another person in a romantic relationship. The characteristics that distinguish romantic partnerships from non-romantic relationships vary, although they frequently entail physical intimacy (holding hands, cuddling, etc.) The aromantic trait is typically seen to be genetic rather than a choice, much as asexuals' lack of sexual attraction is thought to be innate.
